winning essay: coach smith is the head baseball coach at paschal high school and also teaches health. he's taught us that we're not here just to play a ball game but to learn lessons that will take us far in the game of life. he always tells us that academics come first, and is constantly checking to see that we were prepared to perform in the classroom just as he expects us to come to the field ready to work. he has taught us to be responsible citizens by giving back to our community. he's done this by getting us involved with can drives for food banks, christmas toy drives, and other volunteer opportunities throughout the year. he plans fundraising events so we can replace old equiptment and have what we need to excel in our game. he shows us that with hard work we can achieve our dreams. smith's a role model and we respect him for the values he possesses. selecting him for this award would give me and my teammates the chance to recognize him for all the time and effort he puts into coaching our team. |
