winning essay: cynthia has been teaching special education for 18 years. she is an extremely dedicated teacher. she continues to keep up with her "babies" even after they have completed elementary school. she has attended their graduations and a senior prom when she was invited by one of her previous students. cynthia goes to the hospital when any of her medically fragile students is ill even during the summer when she is not working. the parents of her students adore her because they know she challenges them to learn and that she truly cares about their well-being. cynthia got married over a year ago and invited ten of her previous students. they all attended along with three parents. she had a d.j. play a special song during the reception and asked all the students to dance with her. some were dancing in their wheelchairs! |
